You're reading: NATO ‘highly appreciates’ cooperation with Ukraine

Chairman of NATO Military Committee, General Knud Bartels has said that the alliance highly appreciates its cooperation with Ukraine.

“Ukraine is one of [NATO’s] most reliable and important partners. The
alliance highly appreciates Ukraine’s contribution to NATO-led
operations,” he said at a press conference during his visit to Ukraine,
according to the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.

“We welcome Ukraine’s readiness to join another operation – Ocean
Shield – next year and provide a frigate, a marine infantry detachment,
and a helicopter for the operation. We are proud of the fact that
Ukrainians will serve together with us. I hope that in the future we
will have even more opportunities for cooperation,” Bartels said.

In addition, the general thanked Ukraine for its contribution to supporting peace and stability.

“I would like to thank Ukraine for its active participation in
operations led by NATO and other international organizations,” he said.
