Prosecutors have seized bags of ballots and protocols from three polling stations in Luhansk for investigation, the press service of the Opora Civil Network has reported.

According to the press service, on Nov. 3, investigators from the Luhansk regional prosecutor’s office arrived at the Zhovtneva district territorial election commission in Luhansk after receiving a complaint from representatives of the Communist Party of Ukraine about fraud at three polling stations – No. 138, 139 and 141.

Communist Party representatives told law enforcers and Opora observers that the results of voting at these polling stations did not coincide with the official election results that were read out at the district territorial election commission, the press service said.

"The investigators confirmed differences between the protocols obtained by Communist Party monitors and the protocols transferred to the district territorial election commission. Also, the prosecutor’s office determined that one of the bags with ballots had been damaged. The prosecutors told reporters and commission members that they seized the bags with ballots and protocols at these three polling stations for further investigation," Opora’s press service reported.

As reported, the Communist Party announced its intention to demand a re-run of the mayoral election in Luhansk city and the election of deputies to local councils.

"We will demand a re-run of the elections, not only for the post of mayor, but also to all local government agencies," the Communist Party candidate for Luhansk mayor, MP Spyrydon Kilinkarov, said.

Kilinkarov said that, given the massive vote fraud, he would not accept any election results in Luhansk even if he were to be declared the winner of the mayoral election.
