You're reading: Opposition leaders consider attack on Lutsenko as attempted murder

 Editor's Note: The following joint statement was released by opposition leaders Arseniy Yatsenyu,k Oleg Tiahnybok and Vitali Klitschko in condemnation of the Jan. 10 beating by police of ex-Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko, another opposition leader.

 

"The government has long passed the limit, but the nightly events during Svyatoshynsky police station in Kiev again demonstrated that this government will not stop before the killings of activists," - said in a statement.

 

"This proves once again that the protests in the streets across the country have continued. We will do our best to change the power and forever change the system in which the police has his people by thoughtless orders", - stated in the document.

 

Opposition leaders called on all concerned to express their disagreement with the policies of the government and solidarity with the slain activists in the near Popular Assembly in Kyiv on Sunday at 12:00.

“The government has long passed the limit, but the nightly events during the Svyatoshynsky police station in Kiev again demonstrated that this government will not stop before the killings of activists. This proves once again that the protests in the streets across the country have continued. We will do our best to change the power and forever change the system in which the police has his people by thoughtless orders. 

Opposition leaders called on all concerned to express their disagreement with the policies of the government and solidarity with the slain activists during a rally in Kyiv at noon on Jan. 12.
