Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has appointed Valeriy Khoroshkovsky as a first deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine by his order.

The respective document has been posted on the official presidential Web site.

The president increased the number of SBU first deputy heads to two by his order. The SBU’s head also has six deputies.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Khoroshkovsky as a head of the State Customs Service in December 2007.

The resolution on his dismissal from that post hasn’t been published.

Khoroshkovsky held state posts from December 2006 to May 2007, and was a first deputy head of the National Security and Defense Council.

In November 2004, he was appointed first as a senior vice president of the largest metallurgical company in Russia, EvrazHolding, and than as executive head.
