You're reading: OSCE mission calls to observe truce needed to repair water supply in Donbas

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Special Monitoring Mission on Ukraine is concerned about the situation with the water supply in a number of localities in Donetsk region and urged the sides to observe the ceasefire in order to enable the necessary repairs.

“The SMM is concerned about the situation with water supply that affects residents of Berezove, Solodke, Stepne, Taramchuk villages, and Olenivka town in Donetsk region. The SMM calls on the sides to adhere to the ceasefire to enable demining and repair work to the damaged power lines which supply electricity to the pumping station,” the mission said in a statement on Facebook.

“The SMM has offered to facilitate dialogue between the sides and monitor the repairs if requested to do so,” it said.
