More than 30,000 people have been put on the list of casualties since the onset of the conflict in Donbas, including the more than 9,000 people killed in the conflict, Taye-Brook Zerihoun, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, said.

The total number of people that have suffered from the conflict is growing. Currently, their number exceeds 30,700, including 9,333 killed and about 21,400 injured since the onset of the conflict in mid-2014,” he said at the UN Security Council meeting.

Positive steps have largely been undermined due to the complicated and unstable situation in the conflict area, Zerihoun added.
