Regions Party MP Vadym Kolesnichenko has demanded that the Prosecutor General's Office and the Interior Ministry investigate reports that an attempt on the lives of People's Self-Defense Party MPs Volodymyr Aryev and Oles Doniy is allegedly being prepared.
"The report that an attempt on the lives of Volodymyr Aryev and Oles Doniy is allegedly being prepared, which was published in some media, is bewildering. It is aimed at artificially drawing attention to the People’s Self-Defense Party, which has long been irrelevant as a political group," the Regions Party’s press service quoted Kolesnichenko as saying on Sunday.
He said that such reports, in his opinion, were a "petty political game of political micro-organisms." The MP suggested that similar scandals were fabricated ahead of parliamentary elections in 2012 in order to attract attention to the representatives of the People’s Self-Defense Party.
Kolesnichenko said that he had submitted a deputy request to law enforcement agencies in order to clarify this situation.
As reported, the press service of the People’s Self Defense Party reported on January 15 that an attempt on the lives of MPs Oles Doniy and Volodymyr Aryev was allegedly being prepared.
