MOSCOW - Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said he couldn't confirm the reports that an agreement had been reached on the release of Ukrainian citizens convicted and imprisoned in Russia Hennadiy Afanasyev and Yuriy Soloshenko.

“I don’t have the information that allows me to confirm it,” Peskov told a briefing on May 30, responding to a request to comment on the statements made by the Ukrainian administration that an agreement on the release of Afanasyev and Soloshenko had been reached.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said earlier that there is a tentative agreement with the Russian administration on the return of Soloshenko and Afanasyev to Ukraine.
