You're reading: Police specify number of participants in holly procession to Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

The cross procession that headed to the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Monastery) after a prayer on Volodymyrska Hirka (St. Volodymyr Hill) on July 27 afternoon now has over 9,000 participants, the Kyiv national police press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

The law enforcement agencies earlier said that the prayer on Volodymyrska Hirka and the adjacent territories had from 8,000 to 10,000 participants.

In the meantime, according to the information department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), the prayer on Volodymyrska Hirka had over 30,000 participants.
