The poll was conducted by the Institute of Analysis and Forecasting, Oleksandr Yaremenko Institute for Social Studies and the Social Monitoring Center, with the assistance of the Kyiv Press Club nongovernmental organization, as part of the project titled the Resetting – Open Power project.

“If the Ukrainian presidential election were held next Sunday, Poroshenko would take the top position since he currently enjoys support of 19.5 percent of the respondents who have already decided on how they will vote. He is followed, with a minimal gap, by Yulia Tymoshenko with 19.4 percent, while Samopomich party leader Andriy Sadovy is lagging behind with 13.5 percent,” Institute of Analysis and Forecasting Director Yuriy Lesnichiy said when presenting the results of the poll in Kyiv on July 25.

The study indicated that 12.6 percent of Ukrainians would vote in favor of Ukraine’s Radical Party leader Oleh Liashko and another 6.8 percent in favor of Vadim Rabinovich, leader of the political party called Center. Yuriy Boiko, a leader of the Opposition Bloc party, would win 6.6 percent of the vote, the poll suggests.

Oleh Tiahnybok, leader of the All-Ukrainian Association Svoboda (Freedom), would win 4.4 percent of the vote, incumbent Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman 3.4 percent, leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk 1.9 percent and the same percent of the voters would like to see “another politician” on the post of the President of Ukraine. Another 14.8 percent of Ukrainians say that they would not attend the election. Still, 27.7 percent of respondents remain undecided.

The poll was conducted on July 5-16, 2016 all across Ukraine by way of face-to-face interviews at the respondent’s place of residence. The sample size of the poll was 2,010 people over 18 years of age.
