Over half of Ukrainians (51 percent) choose the European Union as their country's vector of integration, according to the findings of a Research & Branding Group poll unveiled on August 25.

The opposite vector (joining the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) would be chosen by 13 percent of Ukrainian residents, the pollster said.

Some of the respondents (27 percent) would prefer not to join any of the suggested trade blocs; 9 percent could not answer.

The poll also found that over the past seven months one in four Ukrainians (40-42 percent) said they would take advantage of the opportunities offered by an introduction of visa-free travel with the EU.

The survey was conducted on July 7-15 among 1,795 Ukrainian adults selected on the basis of quota sampling by region, gender and age. The margin of error: +2.4 percent.
