The volume of construction in Kyiv under the state program for providing the public with affordable housing using the 70/30 scheme will remain at last year's level and 722 apartments will be built under the program in 2012, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.

"In general, the program for the construction of affordable housing in Kyiv until 2017 foresees the construction of about 27,700 apartments under the 50/50, 70/30 and 50/30/20 financing schemes," the administration’s press service quoted Popov as saying.

He said 873 apartments were distributed in 2011 among those on the housing waiting list under the 70/30 state program.

All developers in Kyiv commissioned 1.501 million square meters of housing last year, which is equivalent to 15,534 apartments, Popov said.
