You're reading: Poroshenko orders Donetsk administration to be temporarily moved to Mariupol

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has ordered Donetsk regional state administration head Serhiy Taruta to temporary move the administration's office to Mariupol.

“Thanks to heroism exhibited by Ukrainian servicemen in Mariupol, the
situation in that city has stabilized. So, I think it will be expedient
to move the Donetsk regional state administration there,” the
presidential website quoted Poroshenko as saying.

The head of the regional state administration and his staff should
start to fulfill their duties in the new place already on Friday, June 13 the
president underscored.

The active stage of the anti-terrorist operation started in Mariupol in the small morning hours of Friday.

“Militia” said they had lost five men in fighting. The National Guard reported injuries of four Ukrainian servicemen.

The interior minister’s assistant Anton Herashchenko said on Friday
afternoon, June 13 the Ukrainian forces had regained control of Mariupol.
