Ukraine's stance on decentralization amendments to the constitution is fully understood by European partners, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

“I am confident that today this stance, and I can tell you this because I returned from Brussels at 4 a.m. this morning, is fully understood by our European partners,” the president said at a Verkhovna Rada meeting dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian constitution on June 28.

Ukraine remains on the list of EU priorities, Poroshenko said.

“It is of paramount importance that these meetings in Brussels happen after Brexit. Ukraine is the only country enjoying the keen attention of the EU; it is the first country EU leaders met with after Brexit to discuss new progress and further development of matters,” he said.

“In addition to Donbas de-occupation issues, the return of annexed Crimea remains on the EU agenda,” Poroshenko said.
