Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who on Wednesday went to Davos, Switzerland, among official Ukrainian delegates attending the World Economic Forum, will hold a meeting with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.

“I know the president is scheduled to meet with the IMF managing director,” Yatseniuk said at a Cabinet meeting in Kyiv on Jan. 20.

Yatseniuk added that Ukraine should continue the program of cooperation with the IMF, as it is fundamental to economic stability in Ukraine.

As was reported, Poroshenko announced last week that additional negotiations should take place to continue cooperation with the IMF under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. “Probably it will require my involvement,” he said in Kyiv on Jan. 14.

In his words, the updated memorandum under the EFF will be finalized soon. He also announced a meeting with IMF representatives in Switzerland.
