Both Petro Poroshenko and Arseniy Yatsenyuk are rich, but the president is much richer than the prime minister.

Poroshenko, the nation’s president, earned Hr 62 million ($2.36 million) in 2015, according to his income declaration.

But his declaration form, filled in by hand and uploaded on the head of state’s official website on April 1, gives no indication about how the bulk of that income – about Hr 50 million ($1.9 million) – was earned.

Instead, the president simply declared Hr 49.66 million in the section of the form marked “other types of income.”

Poroshenko’s salary as president was Hr 121,054 ($4,617) in 2015, according to the declaration form. The other income the president declared specifically was Hr 12 million ($458,000) earned in dividend and interest payments, and Hr 1,000 ($38) from the sale of securities and/or corporate rights.

According to the declaration (PDF), Poroshenko has Hr 563 million ($21.47 million) deposited in bank accounts. Other assets include Hr 38 million ($1.45 million) invested in the statutory capital of enterprises, of which Hr 1.5 million ($57,000) was invested in 2015.

Poroshenko owns or rents six land plots of from 1,000 to 7,511 square meters in area. He has three apartments: 68.2 square meters, 82.15 square meters, and 134.06 square meters in area respectively. He also has a 1,331 square-meter mansion. The area of his other property is 35.3 square meters.

Ukrainian president owns a Mercedes-Benz Vitoa, a BMW 750 LI (he spent Hr 180,000 ($6,865) on leasing or obtaining other rights of use for this vehicle), a Range Rover (Hr 300,000 ($11,442) spent on leasing or obtaining other rights of use for this vehicle), and a motorboat — a Bayliner 185 BR.

The members of the president’s family own a Jaguar XF 4/2, land plots with a combined area of 2,400 square meters, an 80.66 square-meter apartment, a garage, a dacha, and more than Hr 300,000 in bank deposits.

They spent Hr 34,460 ($1,314) on maintaining property, while their combined annual income was Hr 88,772 ($3,385).

Yatsenyuk declares Hr 2 million

Yatsenyuk, Ukraine’s prime minister, also published his 2015 income and property declaration on April 1.

According to the information on the governmental official website, Yatsenyuk earned almost Hr 2 million ($76,300) in 2015, only Hr 81,721 ($3,116) of which was his official salary. Interest from the bank deposits earned him over Hr 1.2 million ($46,332), and the leasing of property brought another Hr 600,000 ($22,900).

Yatsenyuk has more than Hr 18.2 million ($6.9 million) in bank deposits.

The prime minister’s wife, Tereziya Yatsenyuk, earned Hr 1.1 million ($42,000) in 2015, and has Hr 3.3 million ($126,000) in bank deposits.

The Yatsenyuks own a land plot, a house, a garage, three apartments, a country house, and a parking space. They also have two cars: a Mercedes-Benz S-Class car, and a Range Rover SUV.
