A pro-Russian demonstration is being held in Donetsk on Saturday.
After holding a rally on Lenin Square several thousand people marched to the regional administration building which is being guarded by reinforced police units.
The demonstrators are holding Russian flags and posters reading: “Yanukovych, Save Donbass!” “Yanukovych, Come Back!” “No to Fascism!” and they are chanting: “Referendum!” “Gubarev!”
The Ukrainian Security Service detained leader of the Donbass People’s Army Mikhail Chumachenko earlier on Saturday on suspicion of involvement in activities detrimental to Ukraine’s territorial integrity. It detained another leader of the Donbass People’s Army, “People’s Governor” Pavel Gubarev in early March.
