The Russian Investigative Committee has started a procedural probe over the shooting at a district of Russia's Rostov region from Ukraine, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said.

“A clash is currently under way near Dolzhansk and Novoshakhtynsk in Ukraine, as a result of which Russian territory was subject to shooting,” Markin said on June 20.

A group of Russian Investigative Committee investigators went to the scene immediately “in order to examine and register evidence of shooting at Russia’s territory,” he said.

A procedural decision will be made following the probe, Markin said.
