You're reading: Process of unification of opposition finished, says Yatseniuk

Head of the united opposition and the leader of the Front for Change Party, Arseniy Yatseniuk, has said that the process of the unification of the opposition is over.

“We’ve finished the formation of a powerful united Ukrainian opposition on the basis of the Batkivschyna Party,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.

“Of course we may consider the possible membership of other people’s deputies, but, speaking about the political unification of the political forces, we have done this. Not many people expected such results, but we did it, we united and today, in fact, we represent a political force and political leaders capable of fighting the regime of [Ukrainian] President [Viktor] Yanukovych, the Regions Party, and the satellites that are supporting his regime today,” the politician said.

“Today Ukraine has a bipolar political model – Yanukovych with his supporters, and the united opposition – I mean Batkivschyna,” Yatseniuk said.
