Liliya Frolova, the state prosecutor on a criminal case opened against former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on charges of abuse of office while signing gas contracts with Russia in 2009, has said that third Ukrainian President Viktor Yuhschenko and former Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Oleh Dubyna could be questioned in court as witnesses.

She said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday that the indictment issued by the prosecutor’s office against Tymoshenko included a list of individuals who must be questioned during the trial.

When asked whether the list includes Yushchenko and Dubyna, she said: "You will hear everything during the trial."

When asked whether these individuals are on the list of people who must be questioned, the prosecutor said: "Yes."

Frolova also added: "If he [Yushchenko] is invited to the court session, he must give evidence."

She also recalled that if a witness whose name appears on the list does not arrive in court, then he could be delivered to court by force.
