Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka has appointed Oleksandr Halkin as prosecutor of Odesa region.

“Odesa region is a very difficult region and effectiveness of work of
prosecution agencies should be improved in such direction as
supervision of law enforcers, investigators, law enforcement activities
also should be improved,” the media liaisons department of the
Prosecutor General’s Office cited Pshonka as saying.

Earlier, Halkin worked as deputy prosecutor general of Ukraine. He was replaced by Vitaliy Bilous.

Halkin is a 3rd rank state councilor of justice. He has been working for prosecution agencies since 1986.
