Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed concern over the reports about resumed hostilities near Sloviansk and urged the authorities in Kyiv to ensure real end to bloodshed in Ukraine.

“Regrettably, I now have the latest information that a fight is
taking place in one of the most troubled spots, the area around the city
of Sloviansk, paratroopers have landed there and already there are
casualties. This is sad,” Putin told a press conference in Vienna on June 24.

“Declarations should be backed up with concrete action, otherwise not
one problem of this sort will be resolved,” the Russian president
stressed.
