Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych may discuss the situation of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko at a meeting in Yalta on Thursday, Putin's aide Yury Ushakov said.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, Ushakov said the Russian-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission will gather under the two presidents’ chairmanship for its fifth session in Yalta on July 12. Before this, Putin and Yanukovych will have a bilateral meeting.
“As I see it, the presidents will address any issues at the bilateral meeting, including the most sensitive ones. I do not know whether the situation surrounding Tymoshenko will be among them, but I do not rule out that this issue could be touched upon this or that way, and this depends on the presidents,” Ushakov said.
