Negotiations on settling the ongoing crisis in Ukraine with the opposition leaders are possible only after the riots are stopped, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak said.
“Negotiations are possible, but only on the condition that any
violent actions and provocations by the protesters’ part are stopped,”
Rybak said at a news conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The opposition leaders’ actions have led to fatalities, he said.
“The irresponsible calls that the opposition leaders made in Kyiv
yesterday that the protesters would resort to active radical actions if
the parliament did not vote in line with Maidan’s instructions have led
to a tragic result. Blood has been shed in Kyiv, and people have been
killed,” he said.
Having realized what their injudicious actions have led to, the
opposition leaders are again asking for continuing the talks, he said.
