Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has set fines for the refusal to provide jobs to disabled people.

A total of 288 MPs of the 336 registered for voting supported the introduction of amendments to some legislative acts on the employment of disabled people.

The law makes amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences, according to which the non-implementation by an official or an individual who are authorized to hire and dismiss of the regulations on jobs to provide employment for disabled people, failure to register or the late registration of people with disabilities at the department of the social protection fund, or the non-submission or late submission of a report on the employment of a disabled person to the department of the social protection fund report will lead to imposition of a fine of from 50 to 100 non tax-exempted incomes of citizens.

The law also makes amendments to the current law on the basis of the social protection of disabled people in Ukraine, according to which enterprises, organizations, and individuals who use hired labor, are to create jobs for disabled people, including the conditions for working at home through the supply and installation of major or additional equipment for this purpose.

According to the law, disabled people fulfill their right to get a job through direct addresses to enterprises, organizations, or individuals that use hired labor with the assistance of the territorial body of the central executive body that implements state policy in the employment of the population and labor migration ,or independently provide themselves with a job.
