You're reading: Rada strips Kolesnichenko and Vanzuriak of deputies’ seats

On Tuesday, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stripped MP Vadym Kolesnichenko from the Party of Regions faction of his deputy's seat.

According to the reporter of Interfax-Ukraine news agency, a total of
241 MPs voted for the corresponding decree on the second try.

In addition, the parliament also voted for early resignation of MP
Roman Vanzuriak (UDAR party member). A total of 249 MPs voted for that
decision.

According the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr
Turchynov, Vanzuriak submitted a letter of resignation as he had been
appointed to the important position of governor in Chernivtsi region.

Turchynov also warned that if the MPs holding a second job didn’t
hand in letters of resignation he would have to take legal action.
