You're reading: Regions Party to decide on date for adoption of state budget for 2013 after government submits its draft

The Regions Party has not decided if the current parliament will adopt the law on the state budget for 2013, or when.

“It would be logical if the current parliament considered the budget
in November, after the elections,” the leader of the Regions Party
faction in parliament, Oleksandr Yefremov, said at a briefing in Kyiv on
Monday, Sept. 3.

He also said that if there were confidence that the parliament’s
governing bodies would be formed soon after the elections, it would be
possible for the new parliament to consider a bill on the state budget
for next year.

However, Yefremov said there was danger that there would be problems
with the governing bodies of the newly elected parliament and then it
would fail to adopt the budget for next year by the end of the year.

“We’ll decide on what to do depending on the time of the submission
by the Cabinet of Ministers [of a bill on the state budget for 2013],”
Yefremov said.
