The Right Sector movement is not ruling out its participation in the conflict in Crimea if Russia continues to escalate confrontation in the autonomy, the chairman of the Kyiv branch of the Right Sector movement, Andriy Tarasenko, has said.

“The other side of the coin is war. We do not rule out this option. Accordingly, we are conducting mobilization and are preparing to repel foreign aggression,” he said at a press conference on Thursday.

“If the Kremlin tramples on us further, we will fight and defend our native state until the end,” he said.

While commenting on the decision by a Russian investigative commission to detain Right Sector leader Dmytro Yarosh, the activist said that it had been done, “because they are afraid.”

Tarasenko said that Right Sector was not closely cooperating with Russian NGOs.
