MOSCOW - The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) is banning importation of Ukrainian animal feed and feed additives over genetically modified organisms.

“Given repeated instances of genetically modified components in shipments of unregistered feeds produced at Ukrainian enterprises, Rosselkhoznadzor is imposing temporary restrictions on the delivery of animal feed and feed additives produced at Ukrainian enterprises from August 1, 2016,” the agency said.

This measure is aimed at “preventing the entry into Russia of product that is unsafe in veterinary and phytosanitary terms,” it said.
