Sochi - Russian President Vladimir Putin and UK Prime Minister David Cameron discussed the continuing standoff in Ukraine, the Syrian crisis and the Iranian nuclear program over the phone, Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

“A telephone conversation took place between Putin and Cameron. The leaders exchanged opinions on current issues facing bilateral Russian-British relations and discussed regional problems in detail, with a focus on the Syrian settlement process, as well as the Iranian nuclear dossier,” Peskov said.

“Putin informed Cameron of the recent Russia-EU summit in Brussels. The Ukrainian topic was addressed as well,” he said.

“Cameron wished the head of the Russian state and all the organizers success in holding the Winter Olympics in Sochi,” Peskov said.
