Russia intends to demand from UN humanitarian services to collect information on the condition of the civilian population in southeastern Ukraine, says Russian Permanent Representative at the UN Vitaly Churkin.

“What we see so far is that the UN humanitarian people are acting passively and not showing themselves anyhow. True, they don’t have any presence in this region, and therefore they don’t have their own information,” Churkin said on Rossiya-24 news TV channel.

Churkin said that, when he meets with the UN under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs, he intends to raise these issues so that “the UN humanitarian people collect the necessary information, which is quite accessible.”
