Russian receives regional language status in Kharkiv

Around 100 people are participating in the protest against the language bill in Kharkiv, including representatives of the Batkivschyna Party and the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Union.

Kharkiv – Kharkiv City Council has announced the Russian language as the regional language in the city.

This decision was taken unanimously by 76 members of the council who took part in voting at the council’s special session on Monday. Oppositional members of the council didn’t vote.
