The situation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in Donbas has stabilized since yesterday, according to the Anti-Terrorist Operation press center.

“Since midnight, the intensity of enemy activity has diminished considerably, with 13 shell attacks against Ukrainian positions, including eight in the direction of Donetsk and five in the direction of Mariupol,” the press center said in an update (as of 6 p.m.) on its Facebook page.

In particular, at around 1 p.m. the enemy fired four mortars against Ukrainian strongholds in Krasnohorivka, it said.

Ukrainian positions near Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Mayorsk and Pisky were attacked by militia with various grenade systems, large-caliber machineguns and small arms.

The strongholds near Novhorodske and Maryinka were targeted by enemy snipers, according to the update.

Hoping that shelling would abate, a civilian-military cooperation group in the Donetsk region and maintenance teams are planning to continue efforts to repair a gas pipeline between Maryinka and Krasnohorivka that was destroyed during fighting in 2014-2015, the press center said.
