You're reading: Russian special police task forces arrest two Crimean Tatars – Mejlis leader Chubarov

Russian special police task force on Monday arrested two Crimean Tatars in the village of Krasnokamyanka near Yalta, Chairman of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar People and MP from Petro Poroshenko Bloc Refat Chubarov reported.

“On April 18, 2016, cars with Russian special police task units came into the village of Krasnokamyanka near Yalta in the occupied Crimea, carried searches of Tatar families and arrested two young Crimean Tatars Refat Alimov and Arsen Dzheparov, 23-24 years old,” Chubarov wrote on Facebook.

He stressed that as a result “prosecutor of Crimea” Nataliya Poklonskaya made a statement allegedly “residents of Krasnokamyanka in Yalta Refat Alimov and Arsen Dzheparov were arrested by the Russian special forces in terms of involvement into the Russia-banned Islamic organization ‘Hizb ut-Tahrir.’

“Obviously, arrested Refat Alimov and Arsen Dzheparov will enrich a rank of eight Crimean Tatars, who were earlier arrested under similar far-fetched accusations: Ruslan Zeitullayev, Nuri Primov, Rustem Vaitov, Ferat Saifullayev, along with Emir-Usein Kuku, Enver Bekirov, Muslim Aliyev and Vadim Siruk,” Mejlis chairman said.

Chubrov reiterated that Federal Security Service of Russia remains keeping in Russia-temporarily occupied Crimea deputy chairman of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars Akhtem Chyihoz (since January 29, 2015), activists of Crimean Tatar national movement Ali Asanov (since April 15, 2015) and Mustafa Dehermendzhi (since May 7, 2015).
