You're reading: SBU chief, deputy prosecutor general go to Donetsk to investigate a bank robbery

Ukrainian Security Service Chief Valeriy Khoroshkovsky and Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Voitsishen left for Donetsk on Friday to investigate a robbery of a PrivatBank branch, where five people were killed, the press centers of the Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office told Interfax-Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych earlier instructed Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko and Khoroshkovsky to take the necessary measures to investigate bank robberies in Donetsk and Izmail.

As reported, the robbery of the PrivatBank branch in the center of Donetsk happened at 15.00 on Thursday. The attackers killed five employees of the bank.

The bank also offered a reward of Hr 1 million for assistance in disclosing the crime.

On Dec. 12, the Credit Agricole Bank branch was robbed in Donetsk.

Three people received gunshot wounds at the scene, one of them died in hospital later. Donetsk police addressed citizens with a demand to provide any information that could help detain the gang.
