MOSCOW - The self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is preparing to release 25 Ukrainian prisoners if Kyiv agrees to exchange them for 50 DPR supporters, DPR human rights ombudsperson Darya Morozova told Interfax on Wednesday.

“We are expecting Kyiv to reply to our 25 for 50 prisoner swap offer,” Morozova said.

She abstained from specifying the total number of Ukrainian prisoners held in the DPR, adding that “25 persons who are being prepared for the exchange are practically all detainees held in the DPR.

“According to Morozova, Ukraine is holding 1,115 DPR supporters captive.
