The Russian Federation has recalled its signature on the schedule of the implementation of the Minsk agreements dated November 13, 2014. On January 18, Ukraine suggested it be signed again, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Yuriy Serheyev has said.

“On November 13, 2014, representatives of Ukraine and Russia signed the working document with a clear schedule of implementation of the Minsk agreements. Russia has recalled its signature on the document. On January 18, Ukraine once again confirmed its call to Russia by suggesting signing the schedule on the implementation of the Minsk agreements, particularly in accordance with the edition [of the document] dated November 13, 2014, to achieve a ceasefire on January 19,” he said at a session of UN Security Council on Jan. 21.

Serheyev is sure that the beginning of the meticulous implementation of the document will create conditions that will contribute to holding consultations of the trilateral contact group, as well as the summit of heads of state and governments in Astana. “We demand that the plan be finally implemented,” he said.

The diplomat noted that despite an increase in Russian aggression, Ukraine fully supports a peaceful settlement of the crisis based on the Minsk agreements and absolute respect for Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and political unity. He said that Ukraine had initiated a ceasefire twice and maintained it on a unilateral basis.
