The leaders in the 2013 entrance campaign are the same as in 2012: the majority of students want to enter Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, Ivan Franko Lviv National University, and Kyiv Polytechnic Institute National Technical University of Ukraine.

As the Education and Science Ministry reported, two days before the end of the term to submit documents, Shevchenko University received 49,767 applications; Franko University – 44,536; and Kyiv Polytechnic Institute – 44,073 that exceeds indicators of the last year.

Following the three leaders are Lviv Polytechnic National University, with 41,929 applications, and the National Aviation University which gained 41,810 applications.

As of July 29, 2.91 million applications from 677,500 university entrants were registered. The figures for this year exceed last year’s results, when 620,040 people submitted 1.9 million applications. Besides, a number of applications submitted online doubled.

Other popular universities are Drahomanov National Pedagogical University (35,359 applications), Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University (31,579), Karazin Kharkiv National University (30,743), Hetman Kyiv National Economic University (24,651) and Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (23,886).

The documents for entrance to Ukrainian universities are accepted from July 1 to July 31.
