Some 4,500 believers have now gathered for a prayer on Volodymyrska Hirka (St. Volodymyr Hill) in Kyiv; there are no major violations of law, the communications department of the Kyiv police said.

“Some 4,500 believers have now gathered on Volodymyrska Hirka for a prayer. According to tentative information, the liturgy will begin at 1:00 p.m., after which the parishioners will head to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra Monastery,” the report said.

Parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate are participating in the event.

According to Andriy Krischenko, head of the police department in Kyiv, Kyiv police have not registered any major violations of public order. No reports on any suspicious objects found have been received thus far.

Police continue protecting public order. There are some 5,000 police officers in the city center.
