Two Russian officers Yevgeny Yerofeyev and Alexander Alexandrov have left for Moscow on board the plane belonging to the Russian government, a well-informed source told Interfax-Ukraine.
The Rossiya special flight detachment’s An-148 with registration number RA-61716 arrived at the airport of Hostomel at about 11:00 Kyiv time on May 25 morning. The plane departed to Moscow at about 12:20 Kyiv time.
Media report the men are will be swapped for Ukrainian pilot Nadia Savchenko.
Savchenko’s lawyer Ilya Novikov put “+” on his Facebook page to let his subscribers know that the swap had been successful.
A plane with Savchenko, who is expected to arrive in Ukraine by May 25 evening, is scheduled to arrive at Kyiv’s Boryspil airport at about 15:00 Kyiv time on May 25.
