Moscow - The situation in Ukraine should develop in a legal field, Russia's State Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshkin said.

“I talked to my colleague – Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak – on the telephone on Friday [Jan. 17], a detailed conversation took place,” Naryshkin said on Monday when asked by Interfax to comment on the new situation escalation in Ukraine.

Naryshkin has not specified the details of the conversation held.

“But I want to say generally that laws should be complied with by everyone and everywhere, in particular in Ukraine, naturally,” Naryshkin said.

The Ukrainian president signed on January 17 a number of bills passed by the Verkhovna Rada on January 16, which limit the opportunities of protest activities. Following this, clashes between protesters and police, in which over 200 people have already been injured on both sides, occurred in Kyiv on January 19.
