The head of the state prosecution team in Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, Petro Koval, has said he is satisfied with the ruling of the court in the case against former Acting Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Ivaschenko.

"We agree with the decision, I don’t see any reason to appeal against it," Koval said.

According to the prosecutor, the court’s ruling is fair.

As reported, Pechersky Court sentenced Ivaschenko to five years in prison and barred him from carrying out organizational and administrative activities in state agencies for three years.

The state prosecution asked for Ivaschenko to be sentenced to six years in prison and banned him from holding public posts for three years, without confiscation of property.

Ivaschenko’s defense team is to appeal against the ruling.
