Deputies from the BYUT-Batkivshchyna faction, Yevhen Suslov and Oleksiy Lohvynenko, have submitted statements to quit the faction.

"Today I wrote a statement on my withdrawal from the faction, because I don’t support double standards," Suslov said at a briefing on Wednesday.

He said that double standards in the faction had been demonstrated not for the first time, in particular, the dismissal of Ivan Kyrylenko as head of the faction, and the vote for the law on the election of people’s deputies.

"I have made this decision and I’m quitting the faction of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko," Suslov said.

"I, along with Yevhen Suslov, also wrote a statement on my withdrawal from the faction," Lohvynenko said.

He said that the faction’s decision to expel Natalia Korolevska was a violation of former Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko’s aspirations and calls for the strengthening and unification of opposition political forces in Ukraine.

Lohvynenko said that such a decision by the faction had demonstrated that "the most brilliant young politician in the faction cannot be its member, as she is in competition with the faction’s functionaries."

"I cannot work with such people," he said.
