Leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU) Petro Symonenko and the Batkivschyna parliamentary faction lead the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, of the seventh convocation in terms of the number of bills submitted from December 12 until December 31, 2012, according to a survey conducted by the Opora Civil Network and published on January 8.
The survey says that in late 2012 Symonenko submitted to the parliament for consideration 33 draft laws. He is followed by independent MP Serhiy Mischenko with 20 bills, Batkivschyna MP Volodymyr Yavorivsky with 17 documents, and Batkivschyna MP Mykola Tomenko with 15 bills. Batkivschyna faction members Andriy Pavlovsky and Yuriy Odarchenko tabled 13 bills each and took joint fifth place in the survey.
At the same time, the Batkivschyna parliamentary faction leads the parliamentary factions with 88 bills submitted for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada. It is followed by the CPU faction with 33 documents, and independent parliamentarians with 30 bills. The Regions Party parliamentary faction registered 29 documents and UDAR faction tabled 10 draft laws. Fourteen inter-faction bills were also registered at the Ukrainian parliament.
