Ukrainian Communist Party leader Petro Symonenko is sure that federalization would not lead to Ukraine's split.

“Federalization will not lead to even a bigger split. Ukraine’s
federalization does not imply Ukraine’s split but the preservation of
our state’s territorial integrity,” Symonenko said at a press conference
in Kyiv on Thursday.

He pointed out that the Communist Party included the provision on
Ukraine’s federalization in its draft amendments to the constitution.

The issue of Ukraine’s federalization should be brought up already
now by organizing roundtable debates and engaging professionals in them,
he said.

A nationwide referendum on Ukraine’s federalization could show
whether this provision should be included in the constitution, he said.
