Representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe are expected to arrive in Rostov-on-Don in two groups on July 29, spokesman for the Rostov regional government Alexander Titov told Interfax on July 28.

“The OSCE’s group will oversee the work of the Donetsk and Gukovo border chekpoints. It will be headquartered in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky,” Titov said.

One of the groups, comprised of seven members, is expected to arrive from Kyiv in seven motor vehicles, including two armored vehicles, via the Veselo-Voznesenka checkpoint,” he said.

Mission chief, Paul Bekar of France, and British national John Crosby are expected to fly to Rostov-on-Don from Moscow on Tuesday.

Crosby earlier visited the Rostov region and his task is ‘to get the mission’s work started in the region.”

The OSCE representatives are expected to hold a technical meeting with the Rostov regional leaders, and customs and border officials on Wednesday.

Reports said earlier that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told his American counterpart John Kerry on Sunday that Russia has invited OSCE observers to visit its checkpoints Gukovo and Donetsk on the border with Ukraine and expects them to arrive without delays.
