You're reading: Tigipko: Ukraine government needs ‘extensive reformatting’

One of the candidates for president of Ukraine, Sergiy Tigipko, has proposed "extensive reformatting" of the government as a way to end the country's economic crisis and improve its relations with Russia.

“Immediately after the presidential election, the government should
undergo extensive reformatting. If this doesn’t happen, Ukraine may be
in for some hard times, and the economic crisis will by itself get rid
of this government,” Tigipko said during an election campaign visit to
Zaporizhia.

One more reason why the government needs “reformatting” are Ukraine’s
sour relations with Russia, he argued. The government should include
representatives of eastern and southern regions, he insisted.

The presidential poll is set for May 25.
