Sabotage could cause the disconnection of TVi Channel from the cable networks of the Triolan trademark, President of Triolan Roman Salnykov said at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

“On July 20, 2012 an incident happened in the network of Triolan
company in ten Ukrainian cities: the signal of TVi channel was switched
off. Today, in my opinion, the technical disconnection of the TVi
channel is a real possibility, and it means that it was disconnected by
the engineers that worked at the station of our company,” he said.

According to Salnykov, now the employees of Triolan that worked on
that day, as well as management, are being investigated. Documents have
been submitted to the law enforcement agencies.

“I know that the channel was disconnected because for technical
reasons. At the same time, it was disconnected because of the topics the
TVi channel broadcast, the political component is involved in this. The
TV channel could be disconnected by its own representatives or
opposition structures. Probably, this is sabotage,” he said.

According to him, ahead of the parliamentary elections there was
interference by technical specialists, who bribed employees of Triolan
with the aim of penetrating the network. At the same time the company
has not yet determined the actual reason for the disconnections.
