Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov has called on the UDAR and Svoboda parliamentary factions to propose a candidate for a post of interim prime minister, who will head the government until the parliamentary elections.

“I am officially appealing to the factions who initiated the breakup
of the coalition – UDAR and Svoboda – to immediately nominate a
candidate for the post of a technical prime minister, who will head the
government until the parliamentary elections,” Turchynov said at a
parliamentary session on July 24 after Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk
announced his resignation.

“I will convene a special session at any time to consider the candidacy,” the speaker said.
