Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, has traveled to a 'hotspot' in the war-torn zone, an industrial area not far from Avdiyivka, Donetsk Oblast.

“One shouldn’t rule out any large-scale offensive operations either,” he said during the trip, the NSDC press service reported on April 7.

The spring warming resulted in “the actions of reconnaissance and sabotage groups, and attempted armed provocations of the adversary becoming more intense,” Turchynov said.

“We must be ready to repel any kinds of aggressive actions of the adversary, having provided our Armed Forces with modern weapons and equipment,” he said, recalling that the Ukrainian parliament, as a legislature, had not yet secured replenishment of the specialized state budgetary fund, on which the financing of the state defense order is largely dependent.

“I very much hope that this issue is going to be solved during the next oncoming parliamentary week,” Turchynov added.

Turchynov presided at the meeting held in the Chief Command Post with participation of Ukraine’s Defense Minister, Stepan Poltorak, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhiy Popko and the special operation’s military commandment to discuss organization of an active defense, and providing Ukrainian troops with all things necessary amid the escalation due to the adversary’s actions , according to the NSDC press service.

After the meeting, Turchynov visited the ‘hottest’ points at the forefront. In particular, he went to the industrial zone near Avdiyivka, the NSDC press service said.
